Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Civil and Environmental Engineering is the comprehensive academic field related with infrastructures which expand socio-economic activities and improve the quality of life. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering shall produce excellent individuals who can build, maintain and manage social infrastructures based on relevant knowledge and technology with noble ethical principles and broad insights while recognizing the significant influence of civil engineering technology on nature and society. In particular, we provide fundamentals indispensable for distinguished engineers and researchers who have leadership mind in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering and contribute to the international community. In the undergraduate course, fundamental subjects, composed of Applied Mechanics, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics, Construction Materials and Planning, and applied subjects, such as Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Bridge Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Earthquake Engineering, are offered for students to study these subjects systematically.

Dept. of Civil Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering

Civil Engineering is the comprehensive academic field associated with infrastructures which expand socio-economic activities and improve the quality of life. The Department of Civil Engineering shall produce excellent individuals who can build, maintain and manage social infrastructures based on relevant knowledge and technology with noble ethical principles and broad insights while recognizing the significant influence of civil engineering technology on nature and society. In particular, the Department has a goal of cultivating distinguished engineers and researchers who have leadership mind in the civil engineering field and contribute to the international community. In the graduate course, students are required to acquire advanced knowledge in these fields of study. In addition to the course work, thesis work is compulsory for all graduate students.
