Postgraduate Program for Environmental Designers Contributing to Resilient Cities

Outline

The Postgraduate Program for Environmental Designers Contributing to Resilient Cities offers courses and research opportunities leading to Master's and doctoral degrees either in Civil and Environmental Engineering or Architecture and Building Engineering. This program aims to nurture young and excellent talents who can contribute to the creation and renewal of a disaster resilient built environment as highly skilled engineers, architects, governmental officers or researchers. We call such professions as Environmental Designers.

Application by individuals from disaster-prone countries with marked economic growth is highly appreciated.

This Program is either for a Master's degree only or both Master's and doctoral degrees. Depending on the applicant's career plan, either can be chosen. However, after the application, the choice cannot be changed.

If an applicant chooses to earn both Master's and doctoral degrees, this Program is considered to be one continuous course of study for both Master and doctoral degrees. The study has to be started from the Master's level at Tokyo Institute of Technology even for an applicant who has already earned a Master's degree in the other institution and termination of study only with a Master's degree is not allowed. This combined Master's and Doctoral program can be completed within three to five years.
